Drivers Ed FAQs
General
How do I pay?
Most people pay their package cost online when registering. If you choose to pay by card online, there is a credit card service fee associated with your purchase. You may also pay on the first day of class with cash or check.
How long does it take to complete the program?
It varies for each person. It's possible to finish the classes and behind-the-wheel in as little as four weeks. It could take as long as a few months, depending on circumstances such as when you're available and how busy we are.
Do I need a temporary license to start driver ed?
No. If you are 15 years and 5 months old you may start the driver education portion of our program. Once you are old enough to take the temps test and obtain your temporary license and you have completed at least 2 hours of driver education then you may be scheduled for the in-car portion of our program. Anyone wanting to schedule their in cars needs to have a valid temporary license.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds.
Behind-the-Wheel
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
When you begin the online driver training course and complete the first two hours of course content, a certificate of enrollment will be mailed to you. You should receive the certificate within 7-10 business days. If you have not received the certificate by then, you will need to call the number for the online provider. Once you have the certificate of enrollment, you should then send an email to our school letting us know that you are then ready to begin your in-car training.
Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?
No. When you are in one of our driving school vehicles, you are covered under our business insurance.
Can I request a specific driving instructor?
Maybe! Some of our instructors only work in certain parts of town, or on certain days of the week. But if there's someone you'd like to drive with, let us know and we will try to schedule you with that person.
Will you pick me up?
Our school tries to accommodate you to the best of our abilities. Our drivers can pick you up at school, home, sports, and even the mall if you would like. We do ask that you give us enough notice in advance of the lesson to see if a different location is possible or not. We will make every attempt to work with your schedules and let you know at that time if it will not work.
What if I need to cancel my driving lesson?
We understand life can get in the way of scheduled plans, we just ask that you call or text 24 hours in advance if you are canceling your lesson. If you fail to let us know more than 24 hours in advance, a $50 cancelation fee will be applied to your account and until paid no more lessons will be scheduled or held.
Road Test
What happens if I fail the test?
If you fail one or more portions of the road test, you have to wait seven days to try again if you are under 18. You have four chances to receive your license per temporary permit. You can schedule a driving lesson prior to your test to review your skills. If you fail the test and you would like to take the test again with our vehicle, you will have to pay the fee again.
How long do I have to hold my temporary license before I can test?
You must hold your temporary license for 6 months before you are eligible to take the road test. This rule only applies to students under the age of 18.
How do I schedule a road test?
The easiest way to schedule a test is to visit the website https://services.dps.ohio.gov/BMVOnlineServices and click on the "Schedule a driving test". This will guide you through the process step by step.
